Opis stanowiska

a) topic:
The project “Dynamics of genetic epistatic interactions under different environmental conditions in
multicellular organism Caenorhabditis elegans” aims to develop epistatic maps of genetic interactions under different environmental condition and to study how environmental stress influences genetic interactions. Those findings will be interpreted in relation to evolutionary processes. The research within the project, financed by Polish National Science Centre, will consist mainly of laboratory experiments. The dynamics of epistasis will be studied with model multicellular organism Caenorhabditis elegans. Genetic interactions will be studied under five different environmental conditions. The duties of post-doc will include: laboratory experiments based on RNA interference (RNAi) method, analysis and interpretation of experimental result, preparation of scientific manuscripts and conference materials.
b) Candidate qualifications:
– PhD in biology or related fields,
– recommendation by the PhD supervisor on scientific competencies of the candidate,
– good publication record,
– good knowledge of English,
– good knowledge of statistics,
– good knowledge of molecular technics and genetics,
– experience in laboratory work,
– basic computer programming,
– social and organizational skills.
